Project Nears Completion
Preparation for the initial start-up of the Carbon Capture Project continues with the construction and system readiness work at the Pleasant Prairie Power Plant in the Village of Pleasant Prairie. Despite winter weather, the project remains on schedule to start operations during the first quarter of 2008.
Anticipated Project Outcomes
This innovative project demonstrates our commitment to emission reductions and unique technology that separates and captures carbon dioxide (CO2) gas from a coal-fueled power plant. The use of this new technology has the potential to dramatically reduce the cost of removing CO2 from pulverized coal power plants. This technology is expected to bring the cost of removing CO2 from new or existing power plants in line with the estimated cost of removal from proposed integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) power plants.
