Making the Choice
About half of our Time-of-Use customers save the most on Level 1.
Level 1 may be best if you:
• Can shift 53% to 70% of your electricity use to off-peak hours
• Do not have many large electric appliances
• Do not have electric heat
Level 2 may be best if you:
• Can shift at least 70% of your electricity use to off-peak hours
• Have many large electric appliances
Note: If you you can save with Level 2, you may be able to save more on Level 3.
Risk and Reward
With off-peak prices of 7 cents for Level 1 and 4 cents for Level 2, you have potential savings with Level 1 and even more with Level 2 if you shift enough electricity use to off-peak times. If you do not shift enough use, you will pay more than standard rates in the Level 1 option and even more with the Level 2 option.
