How we restore power

When a power outages occur, we:

  • Address hazards. We first address life-threatening or hazardous conditions such as a power line on a street. Once all hazards are eliminated, we begin restoring power.

  • Restore service. Next we make equipment repairs. Multiple pieces of equipment may be causing an outage. Power may return after one piece of equipment is repaired, or it may require additional repairs.

  • Estimate restoration time. We estimate the time needed to complete all the repairs within a community.
